My Posh Story (Kinda)

I've been thinking a lot about sharing my personal story, it doesn't have a lot to do with Posh but it is the reason I found Posh. It's a story I feel like a lot of women can relate to. I've been overweight pretty much my entire life, I grew up in a rural area where health and nutrition were not a huge priority for people. I lived with my grandparents who were awesome, they were older though and so I never really was taught about skin care or makeup. My Grandma used Avon and that was pretty much my only exposure to beauty products. As I became a teenager I became more interested in washing my face and taking care of my skin. Mostly because as a young child my mom would lay out in the sun slathered in baby oil and she was also a chronic alcoholic and drug user and I saw the toll all this took on her skin. She looked 20 years older then her actual age and still does. I became obsessed with washing my face and moisturizing at about 13. I used Noxema back then and a cheap moisturizer. Luckily I never really had acne problems on my face. Around the end of high school I began to use Clinque products on my face and actually used those off and on until I found Posh. There was a time in my mid twenties when I used Proactive because my acne became terrible.
In my mid twenties I got married and adopted my younger sister and got conservatorship over my brothers. They were between 16-12 at the time. Over the next few years we tried to have a baby, my skin became terrible and my weight ballooned to over 300 pounds. I was so unhappy with myself but I was not taking care of myself. I was busy trying to take care of everyone else and I was always last on my list. In the fall of 2010 our daughter was a senior in high school and I decided enough was enough. I enrolled in college, I started eating right, going to the gym and taking care of my face. We also at this time stopped trying to have a baby. I decided that I was going to focus on me and my health. My skin started to clear and I started to become more physically fit. I then decided that it wasn't just about being fit and healthy but it was about my faith. God didn't give me this body to abuse and fill with unhealthy things. This translated to the food I was eating, the way I was working out, the way I was living my life, and the things I was putting on my skin. What's the point in being healthy and watching what you eat if you are putting all these gross chemicals on your skin? It takes a few seconds for these chemicals to reach your blood stream, and how is that any different then that chemical and calorie laden twinkie you just ate?  To me it wasn't. I started buying more natural products for skin care and bathing. The problem is at this time a lot of this stuff didn't exist in the United States and most of it was imported from Europe, so the cost was high and the scent choice was usually only between two scents. I got interested in essential oils, but making products from the oils was not a reality for me because I just didn't have the time. Then in the Summer of 2013 my friend Stacy introduced me to Perfectly Posh! I could not believe it, they had all the products I wanted and craved at reasonable prices! I joined Posh soon after buying my first 12 products and using and loving them. A little over a month after joining Posh I found out I was pregnant, I'm not crediting Posh for this, but everything fell into place for me. I love that I can offer people a healthier more natural product for them and their families. I love that I feel good about using these products on my skin and I have more then one scent to choose from. I love that Posh tells me, you need to take time for YOU! Take time for yourself even if it's 10 minutes a day, feel pampered, feel loved, feel good! God gave you this one glorious body, take care of it! I would love to hear feedback on how you take care of your body and how you make yourself feel pampered.

Do you want to be Pampered?

Pampering, what does that really mean to us? To me it means when my husband gets home from being out of town for work and takes the baby so I can put on a face mask and lay in my bathtub using every Posh product I own for an hour. I even get to shave my legs! Luxury at it's best. Posh is on a pampering pursuit to make you feel pampered and relaxed. When I don't have those very rare occasions to get a bath in I still can pamper myself with face wash, moisturizer, even that quick shower can be luxurious.

Some of the pampering opportunities we offer are:

Portable parties- Which is basically I give you a bunch of samples that you take to work, Bible study, moms group or wherever you would like and share them with ladies you know deserve pampering. Then you collect the orders for me on order forms and I order all the products. You get the same hostess rewards as having a spa night.

Online parties- I set up an online Facebook party for you to invite all your friends to, we play games and they can win prizes. I can mail or take samples to them and you. The party stays open two weeks for me to gather everyone's orders. Then you collect the same rewards as a portable party or spa night!

Spa Night or Day- You invite all your friends to your house, and provide refreshments. I bring products for people to try, and we play some fun game where people can win prizes. I take everyone's order, I leave the party open for another week to collect more orders. Then you get your hostess rewards!

Each one is very easy to do! I do most of the work for you and you reap lots of rewards! If you are interested in partying with me in the month of November, you get entered to win a $100 Target gift card! What could be better!

Posh, the New Frontier

I have not written a post in quite some time. A lot has gone on for me in the past year, I had a beautiful baby boy in July. Now it's time for me to get back into Poshing the world. A lot has also developed with Posh this year. We have grown from less than 5,000 consultants when I joined to over 13,000 consultants. WOW!!! In a year!! Posh celebrated it's 3rd birthday this September and it was an all out bash! We had sales and tons of specials. We also released our new Fall/Winter catalog that you can view on my website at http://www.perfectlyposh.com/courtneyminor  and we released a record number of new products and some went away.

We also talked a lot about how unique Posh is, we are not a direct sales company. Each person who is an independent consultant is a business owner, and it's more like having a franchise. Posh is awesome and provides us with all the tools we need to succeed. They offer all your  business tools for purchase at a low cost, they offer training every step of the way, a low start up cost of just $99 and much more.  You own a business that is your very own and you can customize it to fit your needs. You can do Posh for fun or for profit. There are so many ways that Posh provides for you to help you succeed in your business.

My favorite thing about Posh is that the products are so good for your skin. I've been using Posh for a year and even through pregnancy and after my son was born my skin has never looked better! Contact  me if you would be interested in starting your own Posh business or contact me if you're interested in sampling products that make you feel good about yourself and make your skin look amazing!

The main thing I want you to take away from this post is that Posh is different. We are unlike any other company you will meet. You can get in on the ground floor of this explosion! Imagine if you had gotten in on the ground floor of Apple, or Coca-Cola where you would be! We have nowhere to go but up and I want to take you with me!

This is a picture of me from 2012, pre-Posh. Notice the uneven tone of my skin, the redness and how dull it is.

This is a picture of me from last weekend at Posh at Play in Houston, Texas. Look at that skin! I look younger in this picture then in the above picture. My skin tone is more even and there is much less redness. And I'm not wearing foundation in either picture. WHAT?!?!
